AI in Shipbuilding: Elevating Human Performance
I enjoyed the discussion as part of the AI and Automation in Shipbuilding panel moderated by Steven Wills at the Special Competitive Studies Project – SCSP AI+ Expo last week. The video below (fortunately) skips over my humorous story about how I learned NOT to paint haze gray on a ship’s hull early in my career, and focuses instead on how we use AI to elevate human performance and set our people up for success. Learning to paint a ship can be hazardous and expensive. Roger Camp knows this firsthand. That’s why virtual training technology is such a game-changer. Roger described it on the “Pier Review – AI and Automation in Shipbuilding” panel hosted by the Center for Maritime Strategy at last week’s #AIExpoDC. As a world-leading shipbuilder, we’re proud of our state-of-the-art capabilities that increase productivity, safety, and efficiency.
